Description
In 2017, as part of her project at IIM Ahmedabad, Vibhuti Kabra imagined something no one had quite done before: yarn-dyed Munga silk woven with real zari. Years of patient work followed: sourcing the right yarn, perfecting the dyeing, and getting the zari right until every thread could be tested and trusted. Hiranya is that first thought, finally whole, presented as an entire collection in real zari.
This suit is a piece of that story. It’s woven in Banaras on yarn-dyed Munga silk, prized for its soft, natural texture and gentle sheen. Golden lotus bootas are scattered across a soft pink ground. The lotus is a symbol of grace and new beginnings, and each one is woven individually in the Khadwa technique so it sits raised and sculpted on the silk. A broad band of gold zari frames the dupatta, and the edges are finished in hand-knotted silk jaali and tassels. It’s understated, elegant, and made to be worn again and again.
It’s woven in real zari: pure silver water-gilded with real gold, verified by an independent lab assay certificate.
This is gold you can test, not just admire. It’s an everyday heirloom, and a story eight years in the making.
Real zari: pure silver (97.10%) water-gilded with real gold, lab-assayed, and the certificate comes with the piece.
